Week 7 - BYE, BYE, BYE

What?  An NSYNC reference?  Well, come on everyone has to like Justin Timberlake (well, except Janet Jackson).

The NFL, in its infinite wisdom, decides to put 6 BYEs in one week.  6!!!  That only means there were 13 games.  Even with that, it was an interesting week.  It was the lowest scoring week of the season so far (21.38 per team versus 22.69 was the previous low on week 3).  That means if you had a BYE, you scored above average (I had 2 BYEs so I await the bombardment from the peanut gallery).  And why is it called a BYE?  According to the internet (if it's on the internet it must be true) a BYE is where you advance in a competition without doing anything.  So that's how I've gotten through life.  My life is a series of BYEs.

So who won the week.  We go back to the Cain and Abel rivalry.  You hate to see brother on brother crime (unless it is the Kardashian brothers, they can have at it).  It is the Costello brothers at it...again.  Drew won week 3 and drew first blood in this rivalry.  Brian says enough is enough and comes back this week with New England (54) and two LA Rams (28) to give Brian 110.  Drew countered with New England (54), Miami (28), and followed it up with....you guessed it a BYE (22).  So only 104 for Drew.  Strong showings by Steve Scott (102) and Erik Hartwell (99) made it interesting.

And who lost the week.  Vic DeVasto set a season low 19.  When the NY Jets are your highest team and you had the KC Chiefs (3) and Bears (3), you know it is a tough week.

There's a new Top 3:
1) Drew Costello - 599
2) Pop DeVasto - 552
3) Tejas Desai - 546

The Harry Mumma Memorial Loser Award for last place is currently.

Jim "Acme" Slobodjian - 404 taking over from Paul "Spills" Porter - 416

Have a nice week.
