Week 8 - Rocky Mountain High (Colorado)
I wonder if John Denver knew Colorado would be the nexus of marijuana use when he wrote Rocky Mountain High. Probably not as he was not referring to drugs. He was talking about the beauty of Colorado and nature was his "high". What do you ask does any of this have to do with football?. Well, Colorado is home of the Broncos and several good college football teams. Did the Broncos lead someone to a win? No. They had 17 points against the Football Team. Did a college team factor in? Child, please.
Colorado is the recent home to this week's winner. This person dropped everything in the Greater Philadelphia Area to head West and chase the American dream (I thought you could ask if you want fries with that in Philly, but whatever floats your boat). I kid because I can (dang, I mean care). This week's winner is Bowen Knarr. Bowen rode the NY Jets (34), Philadelphia (44) and the Bears (22) to 100 points. I bet when Bowen went to bed Saturday night all drunk and lying in the gutter, he never thought he had a shot to win the pool. The JETS?? I mean, they are my favorite NY football team, but that is like being the tallest little person in the circus. Prior to this week, the Jets looked like they could not score in a cathouse with a fist full of 50's (averaging 13 points per week and had a backup QB in his first start). They then upset the Bengals with a 34 spot. And don't get me started on the Eagles. They decided to take a week from their sucketude to win a game.
Bowen beats out Kathy Garstka (92 - Eagles (44), Seahawks (31) and the NY Giants (17)) and Shaun Day Esquire (90 - Arizona (21), LA Rams (38), and Seattle (31)). Tejas Desai who is riding the Triple 2 strategy had a tough week with the Falcons putting up 13 points.
So congrats Bowen. You will be able to buy a little more Blue Dream.
