Week 15 - A Festivus Miracle (a little early)
I am always surprised when I put the scores into the spreadsheet
and then go to the Players tab to see who won. Usually, it is a family
member or someone I root for because they are a good person. There are
the surprises (like when Hartwell won), but there are some givens. Some
people have no chance of winning. They are a Mush. If you don't know
Mush, watch A Bronx Tale. Well this week, we had a Mush win, but not a
normal win. No...had to be a tie. So yes, Andrew Pisani won the week.
However, he did not win outright. He has to share the win...with Rob
Dolnick. These are two people who had no chance of winning - they
aren't family, they haven't bribed the Commissioner. How does this
happen? Could it be that the pool actually isn't rigged? Could the
Grinch not steal Christmas? Does the Human Fund really exist? My world
has been shaken. Did I take the Red Pill (Happy Matrix Day today)?
Andrew Risani had the Lions (30), Eagles (27), and Bills (31) for 88 points
Rob Dolnick had the Eagles (27), Packers (31), and Texans (30) also for 88 points.
Therefore, the Roakes rule is invoked :
1) The Roakes Rule:
Weekly ties share that week’s winning share.
Andrew and Rob will each get $50 for the tie.
Tejas Desai and his triple 2 strategy landed him his 4th last place finish of 30 points (Seahawks - 10)
This
week was the lowest scoring week. The average score was 19.44. The
previous low was 21.38. Guess that's what happens when Tampa Bay
(highest scoring team) gets shut out.
Anyway,
tomorrow is Festivus so enjoy your day. I will be expecting your airing
of grievances. Also, Merry Christmas (there's football on Christmas)
and enjoy the start of Kwanzaa (12/26).
Overall Leaders:
1. Drew Costello - 1106
2. Mary Rudolph - 1091
3. Bowen Knarr - 1083
(#4 Brian Costello - 1082 and Erik Hartwell - 1080 are making it close).
Harry Mumma Memorial Last Place Award
Jim Slobodjian - 907
