Week 6 - There is a God

It has been a tough couple of years.  The pandemic, war in Eastern Europe, the Queen passing, and Tom and Giselle getting divorced.  It would be easy to think that God, or whoever you do or don't believe in, has deserted us.  However, last week I detailed how Antonio Varano and I went to church in Mexico City, taught the Bible to the homeless, and encouraged a co-worker to join a convent.  Why am I rehashing last week's "Ramblings of an Idiot"?  Because if you do good work, you get rewarded by the Almighty.  Yes, it is going to be a big party at the Rudolph/Varano house as Antonio won the pool this week.  As William Cowper said, "God works in mysterious ways".

Antonio rode the New England Patriots (38), LA Rams (24) and the New Orleans Saints (26) for 88 points.  That may be the lowest winning score of the season, but it is a winning score.  AV (my nickname for Antonio) beat out Jane McGrory (Eagles 26, Colts 34, Saints 26 = 86) and Dan Ciano (Jags 27, Colts, 34, Vikings 24 = 85).  As an aside, I do not know if Jane McGrory has been to Mexico, but pretty sure Dan has been there and may not be allowed back in the country.  Mike McGrory, feel free to send some stories about Jane.

The last place weekly "winner" was Molly Rattigan.  Molly had Dallas 17, San Fran 14, and the Bears 7 for a 38.  Molly "bested" Kevin Riordan (Browns 15, Cardinals 9 and a BYE 22 for 46).  Yes, the BYE has finally bit someone, but it was not for a win it was for a loss.  In fairness, the BYE team was the Lions and they are averaging 28 points.  So Molly, I am hoping you enjoy going to church this week or however you are honoring the Almighty or whomever you believe in.  (Editor's note: You can't mention religion, that's a violation of the 1st amendment).  (Publisher's note: The first amendment addresses the establishment of a national religion and deals with Church and State not Church and Pool emails written by an obvious lunatic).

Overall:
Rob "Do-Nick" Dolnick - 458 I am asking you all as pool members to not allow Rob to win the pool.  I will NEVER hear the end of it.
Steve Magenta - 456    I do not know Steve so I have no idea how to mock him so I will just use Blues Clues Magenta

Rob "Yorktown" Watts - 447   Yes, the Americans are wearing down this Englishman.  However, I fear the World Cup will be my Waterloo.

The Harry Mumma Memorial last place position:
Tejas Desai - 309 Tejas is moving up and his lead is shrinking.  Molly Rattigan is 7 points ahead with 316.

Have a nice week.  The file is attached.
