Week 7 - What a week

I did not watch much football this week.  The UNDEFEATED Eagles were off and there were other things going on.  The Phillies are in the World Series against the Yankees (Editor's Note: Nope, the Yankees got swept and they are playing the Astros and stop trying to poke the Northern NJ participants).  The Union are in the MLS Semi-final against NYCFU (Editor's Note: it's NYCFC and that's not nice).  However, there were football games this weekend.  Things went exactly as expected...wait what?  Green Bay lost to the Commies?  New England got "debacled" by the Bears?  Tom Brady got beat by Carolina who traded their best player (CMC) and sent a WR away for almost nothing.  At least the New Jersey teams still stink, wait what....the Giants are 6-1 and the J-E-T-S are 5-2? (Editor's note: They are still called New York even though the Giants haven't played in New York since 1976.).  I guess I missed more than I thought.

It was a good week for the pool.  The second highest scoring week of the season.  7 teams scored over 30 points (highest of the season), but 5 scored 10 or less.  Also, the unspoken criticism of the pool has been broken.  When starting the pool, we struggled with the ideas of BYEs.  The NFL kills us by making our teams sit a week (and in the future it could be two).  How do we handle this?  We decided an average would be the way to go.  The average this year was 22.  Well, Eddie Rodriguez probably went pumpkin picking this weekend when he saw he had a BYE.  Eddie thought he had the high-flying Eagles.  Nope, he had a BYE.  Arizona, Seattle and a BYE.  Hello, Pumpkin farm.  Well, nope again.  Arizona (42), Seattle (37), BYE (22) = 101.  Winner, winner dinner of poultry.  Eddie will have this week's winnings to pay for next year's pumpkins.  He beats out Rob Dolnick (98) and Molly Rattigan who was looking to shake off last week's lowest score with a 96.  Kathy Gartska-Khan wins the lowest of the week with a 39 (Houston 20, NYJ 16, Tampa Brady 3).  Kathy took lowest by a large margin over Rachel "Critter" Mumma and Shaun "O what a beautiful" Day who both had 47.

So congrats Eddie and Kathy.

Overall:

1. Rob Dolnick - 556 (Why is this happening to me????)
2. Rob "Yorktown" Watts - 524 (Rob looking to buy more Hessians with his winnings - read a history book if you don't know the reference)
3. Steve "Blues Clues" Magenta - 522

The Harry Mumma Memorial Last place award (Editor's note: You are STILL not dead, but your jokes are)
51 - Tejas Desai - 372

Rachel "Critter" Mumma has 377 and is seriously making a run at last place.

There are only two teams on BYE this week:
Kansas City (#8)
LA Chargers (#30)

The file is attached and have a good week rooting for the Phillies.

Harry
